Renowned designer, Hanson Ho, presents Shapes (1-15), a distillation of ideas and principles behind functionality. Hanson Ho channels his core design philosophy in a site-specific exhibition at DECK.
Shapes (1-15) presents the fundamental visual elements that have informed the ideologies and works of his Singapore-based, award winning design studio, H55, over the last 16 years. Resembling an archeological dig into H55’s vast digital archive of working files, these shapes are extracted from their original contexts and stripped of any symbolic representations to be presented as they are — nothing more, nothing less. H55 will be also launching their latest book titled “H55: Selected Works from 1999 – 2015” in conjunction with Shapes (1-15).
“The process of creating the exhibition is a means for me to re-look and renew my relationship with the fundamental basics which has informed my approach towards my work and what they can possibly be.”
