The Singapore Management University (SMU) Arts Festival is an annual showcase of creative expression and artistic excellence. Featured art forms, which include music, dance, theatre, and visual arts provide a purposeful opportunity to introduce the university’s artistic works to a public audience. SMU Arts Festival 2021 runs for a month from 30 November to 30 December 2021.
Themed 2GETHER AS 1, the festival welcomes both local and overseas audiences to experience multitudes of art, made possible through collaboration and integration. SMU turns 21 this year and in coming-of-age fashion, the festival infuses two or more unexpected elements in each programme to create one festival of works of greater scale and emotional impact. The festival’s curation also provides a platform for the arts community to rally together and expresses desire for the world to emerge stronger 2GETHER AS 1 in this post-pandemic era.
This is SMU’s second online arts festival and it features close to 300 student talents from 15 Co-curricular arts clubs and 13 partners/collaborators. Audiences can expect to be entertained by singers, dancers, and musicians, be captivated by humans as well as robots, and be reintroduced to media and visual arts.
