Sprezzatura

Amidst songs of ardent love and intense heartbreak, sprezzatura is an air which prevails in the music of 17th-century Italian composers such as Monteverdi, Cavalli and Strozzi. This exciting collaboration between Red Dot Baroque and Italy’s La Risonanza explores this corner of Baroque repertory rarely performed in Singapore, played on instruments such as the theorbo, recorder and sackbut – the predecessor of the trombone.
