Leading up to Gajah Gallery’s 5th Passage exhibition later this year, we invite Singaporean artists Jason Lim and Suzann Victor to meet in conversation on the ways that a multi-disciplinary approach to art-making has impacted their practices, specifically with regards to performance art. In what ways does live performance feed into the tangible artwork both artists create? In what ways do the tangible inspire the temporal? Both artists have risen to prominence in the last 25 years, celebrated for their contributions to contemporary Singaporean art – what insight can be given to emerging artists now, as they seek to define their own relationship to political, physical, or virtual space?
