Stories from Yesteryear features 30 paintings of Yew Chong’s imagination of old scenes of Singapore, some which are whimsical. The paintings are panoramic and intricately detailed scenes that invite one to walk into the art, listen to the people’s conversations and observe as the layers of stories unfold. As the exhibition date draws near, a catalogue will be available for free download.
The exhibition is held across two venues and will relocate from one venue (The Substation) to another (Sofitel Singapore City Centre) over its 1.5-month duration, to provide more accessibility to audiences from all walks of life. One can choose to visit the exhibition at either venue or at both. The two venues offer different time options and very different ambience for experience and appreciation.
