Since 1996, Gajah Gallery has established itself as one of the leading venues for modern and contemporary Southeast Asian art. Lesser known is its founder and director Jasdeep Sandhu’s investigations into the Southeast Asian alumni of the art school of the Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan founded by Rabindranath Tagore. He will revisit encounters with individuals from this ashram-turned-university with Yin Ker, whose work on Myanmar’s Bagyi Aung Soe, another alumnus of Tagore’s school, first began at the Gallery.
