The action takes place in and around 2015, when SG50, the moniker given to the nationwide celebrations of the 50th year of Singapore’s independence, had the country in full swing.
A time capsule from 1990 is unearthed and its contents examined—bottled river water, a phone-book, slivers of the not-so-distant past. Meanwhile, a new capsule is prepared and sealed, to be opened decades into the future. The objects placed inside are mysteriously chosen, and their significance remains opaque as they go from personal items to public collection; symbols for a future self to decode.
This film is rated PG13. Admission is free.
