"Project SHERO" by Tan Siew Ling and Shannon Yip

A sequel to the highly successful Trash-Sure campaign launched in 2022, Singapore’s inaugural The Art of Trash Competition called for submissions in 3 categories (i.e., Primary School, Secondary School, and Open Category) and received over 190 submissions, including strong entries from those as young as 7 years old and people with special abilities.

This exhibition is a very meaningful initiative because it uses art to promote awareness and conversations about climate change and the global waste problem. With the existential threat of climate change exacerbated by a growing consumer culture, we need to rally our community to adopt sustainable practices and reduce our impact on the environment.
