The Drift Project II by award-winning Singaporean artist Justin Lim investigates the driftwood as a metaphor for our quest to discover our origins and identity. Justin has developed his signature charcoal drawings of flowers to express the notion of mortality and our longing to hold on to things that are ephemeral and transitory, and his latest examination into the origins of driftwood continues to question the concept of borders and invisible lines that separate territories.
A recent graduate of LASALLE College of the Arts, Justin Lim received the Winston Oh Travelogue Research Award and the prestigious inaugural IMPART awards (Artist) in 2017, and will participate in a residency at Hubei institute of Fine Arts. He has been actively presenting solo and group shows at ION Art Gallery, Shophouse 5, TAKSU and ICA Singapore since 2013.
