Comprised of recent NAFA graduates, newly formed art collective The Dung Beetle Project has been mentored in managing and curating their debut exhibition as a collective. As recent graduates of Nanyang Academy of Fine Art Diploma in Fine Art program, the group investigates cracks of clarity formed by eclectic ‘absurdities’ they experienced in art-making.
Their coming together propose a dialogue in the same manner art-making often provokes questions about its purpose and value. Inspired by Albert Camus’ Myth of Sisyphus, these young artists contemplate if “the struggle itself towards the height is enough to fill a man’s heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.”
