Singapore Art Museum (SAM) presents an evolving series of public art commissions at Tanjong Pagar Distripark as part of The Everyday Museum (TEM), a long-term public art initiative by SAM that extends art beyond museum walls and into the rhythms of daily life.
Tanjong Pagar Distripark has long been a site of movement and transformation—a place where histories, industries, and communities intersect. Once a bustling port shaped by trade and circulation of goods and labour, it has since evolved into a space for contemporary art and cultural exchange. Through The Everyday Museum, SAM invites artists to respond to its layered and shifting landscape, drawing from the stories embedded in its past and present.
The recent commissions are spread across various locations at Tanjong Pagar Distripark, responding to how people navigate and interact with the place, whether through reflecting on its restlessness and invisible histories or in creating moments of respite. Together, they invite visitors to pause, observe, and discover different senses of the place. Through these artistic interventions, they draw attention to the Distripark as more than just a setting for displaying art—instead, it is a space humanised by flows of people, ideas and experiences, both past and present.
