This session will share about how feminists used the highly expressive and accessible medium of photography to raise awareness of critical social issues. In addition, many women had also taken up photography as a ways of connecting with other women, of documenting the feminine experience, and of sharing the stories of women’s lives.
It will also attempt to make comparisons between feminist contemporary photography in Asia and Europe.
