The Key to this Mystery is to Rephrase the Question Slightly

CHUN Kai Feng, Falling Falling, 2016, Stainless steel and automotive paint, H120 x W88 x D48 cm

The Key to this Mystery is to Rephrase the Question Slightly is a solo exhibition by CHUN Kai Feng.

This exhibition alludes to the perspective that things assume equal ontological significance as their human counterparts. Based on anonymous fixtures of generic urban interiors such as air diffusers and escalators, Chun’s installation of 11 works explore ideas of abstraction and materiality alongside our relationship with things and the environment.

Through slight dislocation of objects from their original context and the subtle restructuring of each of its properties, Chun stages peculiar versions of habitual encounters, prompting a reflective consciousness of the mechanisms embedded in our perception of things. These works extend Chun’s journey of contemplating boredom and mapping existence through everyday things.
