The Urban Pulse of Old Dreams is the latest solo exhibition by Zhu Hong. On showcase are 20 oil paintings that explore the distinctive charms of shophouse architecture, paying homage to its heritage, beauty and relevance to Singapore’s renewed landscape. Already popular for his vibrant renditions of local landscapes in watercolour and acrylic on canvas, this new series is a result of Zhu Hong’s virgin attempt at plein-air oil painting of local street scenes, marking a new artistic milestone in his career.
