‘TOGETHER, HUE & ME’ is a community arts project inviting people to take a closer look at the communal spaces in their neighbourhoods, and reflect on our interwoven lives as residents, friends and neighbours.
Supported by National Arts Council and People’s Association, local artists – Elisa Liu and Cheng Jin An have partnered with Jalan Kayu Community Arts and Culture Club on a project to highlight the subtleties in our everyday spaces and interactions.
Over the course of two months, residents of Jalan Kayu joined the artists in artmaking and music-making workshops and created artworks and soundscapes inspired by the colours, shapes and sounds around the neighbourhood.
This exhibition showcases more than 90 unique perspectives of Jalan Kayu, and reflects the residents’ contemplations on the themes of homeliness and community.
