Urban Mutations is the latest permanent exhibition at the Science Centre that explores the topic of cities. Contrary to our expectations, cities are not static by nature; they are constantly mutating, evolving. Our experience and memories are shaped through the interaction and confluence of people, technology, policy and infrastructure. According to projections by the United Nations, two thirds of the global population will be living in cities. With this surge in urbanisation, many initiatives and innovations are required to face this challenge. Explore the stories of a selection of cities that serve as models around sustainability, greening, diversity and smart technologies. Structured around three topics – Cities under pressure, Urban earth and Urban futures – the exhibition provides visitors with the chance to become actors in the cities of the future.
