Wayang bayang, or ‘shadow theatre’, is an interactive installation-performance inviting viewers to play with light and shadows. As ‘actors’, viewers interact with 3 distinct set-ups, constructing their own visual narratives with shadows as their medium. Wayang Bayang draws inspiration from the interplay of lights and shadows one encounters at home — how the sunlight hits the wall differently at various timings; how a single table lamp at night turns a room into a shadow theatre.
