This unprecedented exhibition is a rarity in itself, as it marks the inaugural appearance of Bizen firing, highlighting the artistic prowess of Japan’s esteemed National Living Treasure (Ningen Kokuhō), Jun Isezaki. Complementing this showcase is Koichiro Isezaki, bringing a contemporary perspective to Bizen, marking both their debut in Singapore.
The serenade continues with the tactile richness and cultural tapestry of Iskandar Jalil’s creations, the organic and nature-inspired ceramics crafted by Hiroko Mita, and the distinctive spiral patterns adorning Kazuya Ishida’s Bizen creations.
This exhibition unfolds a poetic narrative, skillfully weaving together the varied forms of artists’ expression within their unique mediums and practices. The result is a harmonious exploration that reveals the intricate dance of painting, ceramics, and firing techniques, unveiling the aftermath of the ember’s mesmerizing ballet.
