Trained in Europe, Xu Beihong’s influence on Chinese painting is well known. Less documented is his time spent in Southeast Asia in the 1930s and 40s. Join Beijing scholar Dr. Hua Tianxue and local cultural historian Han Shanyuan as they shed light on Xu’s artistic practice and works in the exhibition Siapa.
This lecture is conducted in Mandarin and translated simultaneously into English.
