The gallery space will host a new body of work by Yu-Chen Wang as well as the prestigious work titled “This is the end…” which was formerly on display in the Taipei Biennial 2014. Due to the impact of the work, which has the potential of conquering the space, we invite you to question the probability of the end of the world. The mise-en-scene of the curated space will introduce its viewers to a revised relationship between the anthropomorphic and the natural. The work comprises of a set of five drawings of pencil on paper, complementary sculptures and levitated elements which idolise the space.
As is prevalent in the genre of science fiction, the themes of dystopia and artificial intelligence are found in Wang’s works. These figures seem to be an amalgamation of animal and machine, reminiscent of post-apocalyptic artificial life that would inhabit a science-fiction landscape.
