Zoom into History is a digital initiative that allows visitors to learn more about our history and heritage by interacting with artefacts from the past in real time.
Spanning across two weekends in August (1 – 9 August 2020), Zoom into History will feature artefacts such as a National brand rice cooker, the mace of the City of Singapore, Rasamma’s cap, a night-soil bucket, the Spanish dollar, an Orang Laut basket trap, and the Singapore Stone. The artefacts will be brought to life by local comedians and theatre personalities including Fakkah Fuzz, Hossan Leong, Jacky Ng, Janice Koh, Rishi Budhrani, and Tan Kheng Hua, among others.
Each session will go back in time to shed light on lesser known stories of various eras in Singapore’s history through the eyes of the artefacts, from pre-colonial times to the present. Participants will also get the chance to ask the artefacts questions and have conversations with them during the session, giving them an opportunity to zoom in for a closer look into the artefacts’ lives.
