Mandala Fine Art Gallery focuses its first large-scale exhibition on the world’s vital wildlife populations. Mandala has chosen two of the country’s leading conservation organisations, WWF-Singapore and Shark Savers International, as partners and beneficiaries of the exhibit and concurrent events.
Due to changes in climate, manmade and natural disasters, deforestation, demand for food and other causes, the world’s populations of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish have declined by a staggering 52% in the last forty years.
As during any worldwide crisis, the artist community has responded with creativity and urgency: many international artists have chosen to record and capture the beauty and vastness of wildlife through their paintings, photography and sculptures. To bring together this exhibition, Mandala’s art consultants and curators have carefully chosen around 300 artworks, in an array of artistic mediums, from thirty-six international artists. The ten-day exhibition gives the public the opportunity to view and experience the wildlife-focused art, encouraging visitors’ participation in safeguarding animals.
The private dinner and auction on 15 December at Indochine Saint Ma Garden Dining gives invitees the opportunity to dine next to and bid on marine animal-themed pieces. 30% of all auction proceeds and donations will directly benefit WWF Singapore and Shark Saver International’s conservation work.
