LINE Discovers Singapore’s Next Young Sticker Artist

News

LINE announced the three winning entries for its inaugural sticker design competition, out of the six total shortlisted sticker sets uploaded to the LINE Sticker Shop. In total, sticker sets designed as part of the competition were downloaded over 300,000 times on the LINE Sticker Shop and utilised over 1 million times.

The nation-wide LINE: Search For Singapore’s Next Young Sticker Artist competition, which officially opened on October 3, 2016, is a first in Singapore by the brand to promote and reward budding creative talent. Themed Singapore Fabulous: Life in Singapore, the competition was targeted at local tertiary design students to create a set of 16 stickers that are a personal interpretation of the unique Singaporean experience; Singaporean fashion, buildings, food, slogans, local slangs and famous landmarks.

LINE is a pioneer of the digital sticker feature in the world of messenger apps, launching cartoon-like animated stickers as well as LINE Creators Market – an original platform that allows users all over the world to create and sell stickers of their own design. Its commitment to enhancing the consumer experience through personalised content that bridges information, connections, services and goods remains in focus as stickers become a fundamental part of online messaging globally.

LINE’s user-generated Creator’s Market launched in 2014 and over 2.4 billion stickers are sent and received daily around the world, with 258,000 sets of stickers currently on sale.

Chosen by a panel of judges from the LINE Sticker team, the winning entries were selected based on the number of downloads and usage rate. The winners are:

1st Place:
“Little Yellow” by Brenda Ng, Singapore Polytechnic

2nd Place:
“Fab Trolley Dollyz” by Chua Yong Ping, Ngee Ann Polytechnic

3rd Place:
“SINGA & PURA” by Luo Sheng, Ngee Ann Polytechnic

The winner of the LINE: Search For Singapore’s Next Young Sticker Artist competition will take home a grand prize of S$3,000, followed by S$2,000 and S$1,000 for first and second-runner ups respectively, in cash value of FEVO Prepaid MasterCard® Cards.
