After over 15 years of presenting 3D Contemporary Art at the Middle Road location, the Board of Directors of Sculpture Square (SSQ) has decided that it is time to move on to new fields of exploration.
Middle Road has been SSQ’s home since 1999. The location has gone through the transformation from a forgotten chapel and boarding house to becoming Singapore’s first dedicated space for 3D contemporary art.
SSQ will at the end of August 2014 move on from this special venue to further develop its role as an intermediary between the arts and the private sector, one that aims to create and develop new and exciting opportunities for artists from Singapore and the Greater Asia region. SSQ will continue to operate as both a venue / non venue specific art organization, with its focus remaining on spearheading the development and promotion of 3D contemporary art forms.
In a tribute to the events and people who brought a new lease of life to the Middle Road Space from 1999 to 2014, SSQ brings forth Post Cards from the Future, a specially conceived exhibition which celebrates SSQ’s 15 year stay at 155 Middle Road.
