The 8th edition of Singapore Art Week (SAW), Singapore’s visual arts calendar pinnacle, will return from 11 to 19 January 2020 with new works and exciting art experiences happening island-wide for people of all ages to explore and enjoy. Don’t miss exhibitions with engaging tech and digital elements, public art installations and lifestyle events for the whole family. There will also be talks, tours, fairs and gallery openings to catch.
In keeping with SAW’s theme of “Art Takes Over”, more than 100 art events will take place across Singapore, including arts and cultural institutions and private galleries to art precincts and independent arts spaces.
There’s art for everyone – from those who are collectors and connoisseurs, to those who are drawn to the innovative, quirky, unusual, thought-provoking and multi-sensorial. Signature events like the Light to Night Festival, IMPART Collectors’ Show, ARTWALK Little India, and Aliwal Urban Art Festival return with new offerings as well.
Gillman Barracks will host an array of inspiring and innovative art experiences and programmes. The contemporary visual arts precinct looks set to be the ultimate gateway for quality art experiences for visitors of all ages as it presents programmes and artworks by close to 100 artists from Singapore and beyond, including the highly anticipated return of boutique art showcase S.E.A. Focus, Gillman Barracks’ signature lifestyle open house event Art After Dark and brand-new exhibition openings specially curated by its resident art galleries.
SAW 2020, a celebration of Singapore’s vibrant art landscape, is a joint initiative by the National Arts Council (NAC), the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
