The Virtual Enabling Festival 2020

News

In its third instalment since 2018, the Virtual Enabling Festival 2020 sets out to reach more people than ever this year; yes, it is going virtual and all festival activities this year will be accessible online at enableasia.org/enablingfestival2020.

Veteran director and choreographer Jeremiah Choy, and Enabling Festival’s Programme Director shares what he is most proud about this year’s upcoming festival;

“I am most delighted to reprise my role for the third time for the festival and see it grow from strength to strength. It is a very challenging year, this year. Because we are going fully virtual, we are having to grapple with more online technical and technological issues. Thankfully, everyone is full hands on deck and we are happy to roll out a festival that is informative, engaging and fun.”

SIGHT will be the focus for the Virtual Enabling Festival 2020. The theme “Do You See What I See?” invites “You” to see what “I” the caregiver, or the people with dementia and organisers and friends of the festival “See”.

Not many of us will know what it feels like to live with the knowledge that our brain can play tricks on us and that we may see and perceive things entirely differently from everyone else. This is because we see the world based on our own lens and not through the perspective of people living with dementia, who are beset with visual obstacles and more.

At the festival, connect with caregivers, hear from thought leaders, pose questions to health professionals and specialists, and enjoy artistic and informative films, talks, theatre, movement classes and more. We hope that the Enabling Festival 2020 will strengthen the sense of community amongst caregivers of people with dementia, who may feel more isolated than ever owing to the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Join us for the Enabling Festival 2020!

The Enabling Festival 2020 is supported by Temasek Trust and oscar@sg fund, The Majurity Trust, and Agency for Integrated Care, and is organised by EnableAsia.

Festival Dates & Booking Information:
The Enabling Festival 2020 runs from 25th September to 16th October.
